How ChatGPT Ads in HubSpot Turn AI Search Into a Measurable Revenue Channel
If your buyers ask ChatGPT for vendor recommendations, you can now meet them there with an ad and track what happens next in HubSpot. In September...
Most small businesses already on HubSpot should test ChatGPT Ads through the HubSpot integration, but only with tracking in place first. The ChatGPT Ads HubSpot integration lets you build campaigns, send new leads straight into your CRM, and tie ad spend to closed deals from one screen. It works on every Marketing Hub tier, including Free. Results depend on clean CRM data and buyers who actually use ChatGPT.
ChatGPT Ads opened a self-serve Ads Manager to U.S. advertisers in May 2026, and OpenAI still doesn't have performance benchmarks across advertisers. That makes the setup work, like tracking, conversion events, and lead follow-up, more important than the ad copy itself.
If you're new to HubSpot and want those pieces built correctly before your first campaign, our HubSpot onboarding team can set up your portal from day one.

The ChatGPT Ads HubSpot integration connects your ChatGPT Ads account to the Ads tool in Marketing Hub. You can create campaigns, add new leads to your CRM, trigger follow-up workflows, and compare results with your other ad channels without leaving HubSpot.
HubSpot launched it on September 16, 2026, as the first CRM integrated with ChatGPT Ads. It's available to all HubSpot customers wherever ChatGPT Ads are available, and you need a Marketing Hub Free, Starter, Professional, or Enterprise account plus permission to manage ad accounts on both sides.

Behind the scenes, HubSpot appends UTM parameters to your ChatGPT ad URLs so ad clicks map to contacts and deals. You can also sync ad conversion events back to ChatGPT Ads when a HubSpot form is submitted or a contact's lifecycle stage changes, so the ad platform learns what kinds of clicks turn into real leads.
In our view, that conversion sync is the feature most teams will skip and later regret skipping, because it's what makes the targeting improve over time.
The AI Growth Bundle packages discounted HubSpot Starter seats and credits, a buy-one-get-one-free offer on ChatGPT Business seats, and a ChatGPT Ads credit for new advertisers. It's a new-customer offer only, so your HubSpot account must never have had a paid subscription.
Here's how the HubSpot side breaks down as of October 2026.

The offer page says the Starter discount renews at the discounted rate and applies to seats and credits you add later. For context, regular Marketing Hub Starter includes 500 HubSpot credits and 1,000 marketing contacts.
The OpenAI side has two parts.
The launch announcement listed a $750 match on ChatGPT Ads spend for new accounts opened by September 30, and the offer page now lists the $500 credit. Check the current terms before you plan a budget around any ad credit.
HubSpot and OpenAI are bundling because each company has something the other needs. OpenAI needs advertisers who can prove ChatGPT Ads drive revenue, and HubSpot needs to stay the system of record as more buyer research and daily work moves into ChatGPT.
The pieces have come together fast. OpenAI began testing ads in ChatGPT in February 2026, opened self-serve buying in May, and on September 16 named HubSpot its first CRM partner and Shopify its first ecommerce partner for ChatGPT Ads. HubSpot's own team frames AI search and traditional search as separate channels with different dynamics.
The result is an AI-native SMB growth stack with four layers sold together.
The bundle is a strategic move to become the default software stack for small businesses. Over the next year, expect more vendors to combine AI assistants, advertising channels, and CRM tools into a single package.
ChatGPT handles discovery, and HubSpot handles conversion, follow-up, and measurement. A buyer finds you in a ChatGPT answer or ad, then everything after the click lives in HubSpot.

The organic side is easy to overlook. HubSpot AEO, short for answer engine optimization, costs $50 a month on its own and comes included in Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise. It shows how your brand appears in ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity. Pairing it with ads gives you one view of paid and organic AI search in the same portal.
We'd treat paid and organic as one plan. Ads can cover prompts where you don't appear organically, and AEO work in HubSpot builds the citations that keep paying off after an ad budget ends.
Small teams can now test a new ad channel without adding a new tool, a new dashboard, or a separate attribution setup. The biggest change is that a one- or two-person team can run ChatGPT Ads next to Google, Meta, and LinkedIn ads from the same Ads tool.
ChatGPT Ads Manager has no minimum spend, and campaigns built in HubSpot can use CPM, CPC, or oCPC pricing, where oCPC means optimized cost per click. That makes a small test budget realistic. On the bundle, Starter seats start at $7 a month with annual billing.
The updated connector lets you run email campaigns, create landing pages for ads, and analyze closed-won deals from a ChatGPT conversation. The connector has seen 250% growth in weekly active users, a vendor figure worth reading with some caution. For a small team, drafting the landing page behind an ad in ChatGPT and publishing it in HubSpot can save hours of campaign setup.
Small teams rarely have an analyst to stitch ad data to CRM data. With the integration, the person who launches the campaign can also check the deals each campaign produced.
The bundle removes tool sprawl, but it doesn't remove tier limits, data cleanup, or the work of testing a young ad channel. These are the gaps we'd plan for before launch.
Marketing Hub Starter is enough to launch, but it's thin for optimizing. Starter includes 2 contact and company list audiences, 5 ad conversion events, and 1 simple ad workflow per form with up to 10 actions. Custom reports start at Professional, and revenue attribution reports are Enterprise only.
Moving up costs real money. Marketing Hub Professional starts at $800 a month billed annually with 3 core seats, plus a required $3,000 onboarding fee.
Ad-to-deal reporting only works when contacts carry the right lifecycle stage, and deals are associated with the right contacts. Duplicate records, missing deal associations, or forms built outside HubSpot all break the chain. ChatGPT ad conversion events sync from HubSpot form submissions or lifecycle stage changes, so leads from third-party forms only send a signal back if their lifecycle stage stays current.
OpenAI still doesn't have performance benchmarks across advertisers, industries, or campaign types, and early advertisers report CPCs from about $3 to $22. ChatGPT ads also show only to Free and Go users, so buyers on paid ChatGPT plans, including Business and Enterprise, won't see them. The ad itself is simple: a title, body copy, image, and destination URL, so creative testing has less room than on Meta or LinkedIn.
HubSpot credits reset monthly and don't roll over, so cheap credits only help if you use them. On the ChatGPT side, the connector respects the user permissions set in HubSpot, but a Super Admin or a user with App Marketplace permissions still has to choose the permissions it gets.
None of these are reasons to skip the channel. They're reasons to budget setup time alongside ad spend.
We'd work through these seven checks in order.
If the answer to check 2 is no, put the budget into organic visibility first. Learning how to increase your share of voice in AI search will do more for you than ads aimed at buyers who aren't there.
ChatGPT Ads attribution usually breaks at setup, through missing tracking code, forms built outside HubSpot, or deals with no associated contacts. Our onboarding team installs the HubSpot tracking code, imports and maps your CRM data, sets up custom properties, and builds marketing dashboards before your first campaign goes live. We've used the same process across 875+ HubSpot implementations. If you're setting up a new HubSpot portal, our HubSpot onboarding and setup service gets the reporting foundation right so your first ChatGPT Ads test produces numbers you can trust.
The ChatGPT Ads HubSpot integration is worth testing for most small businesses already on HubSpot, and the AI Growth Bundle makes it cheaper for brand-new HubSpot customers. The real work sits in tracking, conversion events, and clean CRM data. Start small, measure against deals, and scale only what produces pipeline.

Yes. The integration is a standard feature of the HubSpot Ads tool, so any Marketing Hub customer can connect a ChatGPT Ads account without the bundle.
No. The connector and the ads integration are separate tools. The connector brings HubSpot data into ChatGPT for drafting and analysis, and the ads integration runs campaigns from HubSpot.
Your ChatGPT Ads account and existing campaigns stay in place. Campaigns that depend on the HubSpot connection may stop updating, so pause them first if you plan to disconnect.
Yes, for B2B companies whose buyers research vendors in ChatGPT. Longer sales cycles mean you should judge results on pipeline and deals, not clicks or form fills alone.
No. Ads buy visibility for as long as you pay, and AEO earns citations in ChatGPT answers that keep working after spend stops. Most businesses benefit from running both.
We recommend 60 to 90 days for a first test. That gives enough time for leads to move through your pipeline, so you can judge the channel on deals and not early clicks.
