Marketing can be highly beneficial for a business. Printing your brand name on moleskins, personalizing corporate gifts, or individualizing promotional ‘giveaway’ items at business events are just a few ideas that can help maximize exposure for your brand.

There are, however, some products that are top sellers-- and for very good reason. Certain promotional marketing products work better than others do.

Companies looking to improve the exposure of their brand tend to purchase the most popular types of promotional products, because it gets the brand, and its reputation, out there. Because some customers respond in a different manner to particular items, they are most likely to remember your company or brand in seeing certain products and will, in turn, be more likely to choose your business over the competition.

There are plenty of things to think about when choosing the products you will use. One of the things that we encourage is to choose from the most popular items that are available on the market. Being over experimental can work in the wrong way; sticking to tried-and-tested products will help you build your brand with a higher chance of a positive result.

This is why we wanted to share with you the top selling promotional products that really do work:

1. Mobile Device chargers

When at a conference the first thing that you will notice is everyone is on their phones... from updating social media, checking emails, finding fellow attendees to touching base with the home office. People will be on their phones nonstop resulting in a dead battery before the day ends.

Giving out mobile chargers may just lock you into their memory bank. You provided something they desperately needed at the time and something they will definitely use again, because one can never have too many phone chargers. They will appreciate that you provided a very practical swag item and will see your logo every time they use it reminding them of your company long after the conference is over. And that is the goal...lasting impressions.

2. T-shirts

One can argue that you can't have too many t-shirts. It's a great go to item for sleeping, the gym, loaning to a friend, but if it's one of your favorites they'll have to pry it from your cold dead fingers.

So if you're giving away t-shirts be sure to include a cool design and/or slogan. Because even if they've never heard of your brand or company but if they like the design or it has a funny saying they are much more likely to wear it.  Who knows, if it's really eye catching they may just have to beg you for another one for their  friend or coworker.  It's also a great piece of swag because it's an item that can be worn and easily used in day to day outside of the event.

3. Personalized Sporting Goods

Items like customized golf balls, polo shirts, tees, sports bags and towels make great gifts at corporate events.

The list of sports and outdoor products that can be personalized is endless, yet it all depends on the quantity you need which reflects your budget directly. Perhaps in a business competition or motivational exercise you might choose to give 5 jackets away to the top 5 performers, or you may wish to give away embroidered gloves to all of your employees for Christmas!

Whatever you select, outdoor wear and personalized sporting goods can give you good exposure, as they will be seen regularly. Choosing long lasting products that are likely to be worn or used outside of work (gloves may be worn whilst walking the dog, sports bags may be used to visit the gym or when traveling) will be more likely to provide you with a good result – with minimum effort from you.

4. Reusable Water Bottles

This may sound a bit surprising, but reusable water bottles are some of the most sought after conference swag items. Why?  Well, they make is way more convenient to lug water around so you stay hydrated during all those conversations during the event.  They also encourage attendees to refill their water and shows that your company supports going green.

Like the t-shirt, a reusable water bottle is an item that can be used long after the event is over and in any setting. These are an item that can also be associated with non work events too. A trip to the gym, volleyball on the beach, even just a walk in the park can be a reminder of your company and what an awesome swag gift you provided.

Giveaways are just one way to keep your brand fresh in the mind of potential customers. Another way is with a lead generation campaign. Learn how to creat one with your free guide Introduction to Lead Generation.
