What Is HubSpot Growth Context, and How Do You Improve Your Context Score?

Written by Campaign Creators | 11/02/26

HubSpot Growth Context is everything HubSpot knows about your business, your customers, and your team, and it's what Breeze Assistant and HubSpot's AI agents work from. Context Home shows a score for how complete that context is and where the gaps are. You can improve it by filling in your business profile, ideal customer profiles, personas, and sales methodology, connecting your integrations, and keeping CRM fields populated.

Breeze Assistant and HubSpot's AI agents draw on this context, so a thin profile shows up as generic emails, off-brand content, and agents that guess. Fixing the context usually takes far less work than editing weak AI output every week. If you're getting ready to roll out Breeze agents, our HubSpot AI agent implementation team can review your context and CRM data before anything goes live.

Key Takeaways

  • Growth Context is HubSpot's name for what its AI knows about your business, customers, and team, and HubSpot breaks it into 5 dimensions.
  • Context Home sits under the Context tab in Agent Hub, comes with every edition, and needs Super Admin or Partner Admin permission for most edits.
  • Customers with high-quality context close 3.2x more deals per month in HubSpot's own data, and its figures differ from page to page.

What Is HubSpot Growth Context?

Growth Context is HubSpot's term for the specific, dynamic understanding of your business, customers, and team that its AI works from. HubSpot was already using the term in its Spring 2026 Spotlight in April 2026 and made it the platform's foundation in the Fall 2026 Spotlight on September 16, 2026.

Growth Context isn't one field or one document. It's the combined picture HubSpot builds from your settings, your CRM records, your activity history, and the files you add.

The Five Dimensions

HubSpot splits Growth Context into five dimensions. The Fall 2026 product pages group them more simply as business, team, and customer context. Here's what each of the five covers and where it shows up in your portal.

Dimension

What it covers

Where it lives in HubSpot

Business

Positioning, differentiation, pricing rationale, and brand voice

The Business section of the Context tab, including your brand kit and products

Team

Sales methodology, qualifying criteria, and escalation paths

The Team & Processes section, plus call recordings and deal notes

Process

What triggers a handoff, what makes a deal high priority, and how campaigns get built

Workflows, the Team & Processes section, and files in the Custom section

Customer

What each account bought, why they bought it, their goals, and where friction happened

CRM records, logged activity, and the ICPs and personas in the Customers section

Network

Trends HubSpot sees across its base of more than 280,000 companies

HubSpot's own platform data, not something you edit

Four of the five dimensions depend on what your team adds and keeps current, so your Growth Context is mostly in your hands.

Why Does AI Need Context Beyond CRM Records?

AI needs context because CRM records show what happened, not why it happened or what to do next. Duncan Lennox, HubSpot's Chief Product and Technology Officer, summed it up by saying, "If data is what happened, context is why."

A deal that closed 18 months ago is a good example. The record shows the amount and the close date. It doesn't show that the champion has since changed jobs, that pricing took three rounds to land, or that the customer dislikes automated outreach.

A rep who worked the account knows all of that, but an AI agent reading the record doesn't. Without that context, your team ends up re-explaining your brand voice, pricing, and customer profile every time it asks AI for something. Growth Context stores that background once and applies it across HubSpot's AI tools.

Clean data is still the starting point. Agents only make good calls when they also have the business context behind the data. That's why we treat context as part of the CRM and not a one-time AI setup task.

What Is Context Home and What Does the Score Measure?

Context Home is where you can view and edit what HubSpot knows about your business. It also gives you a score for how complete that context is. You can find it under Agents > Agent Hub, on the Context tab. Context Home is included in all HubSpot editions with no separate charge.

What You Can Add

Context Home is split into sections, and each one feeds a different part of Growth Context. Most edits need Super Admin or Partner Admin permission.

Section

What you add

Who can edit it

Business

Identity and classification, business profile, technology stack, market context, brand kit, and products and services

Super Admins and Partner Admins, plus Prospecting Agent Admins for products and services

Customers

Ideal customer profiles (ICPs) and personas

Super Admins and Partner Admins

Team & Processes

Your sales methodology

Super Admins and Partner Admins

Personal

Your user profile and email personalities, such as one tone for cold outreach and another for closing

Each user, for their own profile

Custom

Free-form notes and uploaded files, each with its own visibility setting

Super Admins and Partner Admins in the setup docs, though the Context Home FAQ lists custom context as something every user can update

Context is different from knowledge vaults. Context applies automatically across HubSpot's AI tools. Knowledge vaults are sets of files and content you attach to a specific project or agent.

How Context Stays Current

HubSpot syncs context from your connected sources as your business data changes, and anything you edit by hand takes priority. Its Recommendations section also flags parts of your context that may be outdated.

What the Score Tells You

The score shows how complete your context is and where gaps remain. HubSpot has not published documentation explaining how the score is calculated or what qualifies as a good score. Its AI context setup guides do not mention the score.

HubSpot's published results offer some insight into the value of high-quality context. The Fall 2026 Spotlight reports that customers with high-quality context close 4.7x more deals than those with low-quality context.

These figures come from HubSpot's own data and compare different customer groups. They show an association between high-quality context and better results, not proof that completing Context Home directly causes those improvements.

Use the score as a checklist for filling context gaps, and assess CRM data quality separately.

How Does Growth Context Power Breeze Assistant, Smart CRM, and HubSpot Agents?

Growth Context is the shared source that Breeze Assistant and HubSpot's agents read from, and the self-updating Smart CRM keeps it fed. One profile of your business, customers, and team means every tool starts from the same version of the facts.

Tool

Context it relies on most

Self-updating Smart CRM

Captures calls, emails, and meetings and keeps records current without manual entry

Connected email and calendar, plus logged activity

Breeze Assistant

Takes a goal, assigns the right agents, and returns proposals, reports, and campaign plans

Business, customer, and team context, plus your CRM records

Prospecting Agent

Watches target accounts for buying signals, scores them against your ICP, and drafts outreach

ICPs, personas, and brand voice

Campaign Agent

Turns a goal into a campaign plan with channels, messages, and assets

Brand identity, audience data, and past campaign results

Content Agent

Writes blog posts, social posts, and landing pages for review

Brand voice, audience data, and AI search recommendations

Nurture Agent

Rewrites each nurture email for the contact receiving it

Contact and company records and engagement signals

Customer Agent

Answers customer questions across chat, email, voice, and social

Purchase history, support history, and your knowledge base

Campaign Agent, Content Agent, and Nurture Agent are in public beta as of the Fall 2026 release. Campaign Agent needs Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise.

The same context also reaches outside HubSpot. AI connectors bring your HubSpot data into Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini. Breeze Assistant can also pull from connected tools like Gong, G2, and Asana.

What Data Feeds Growth Context, and What Does It Miss?

Growth Context draws on your CRM records, logged activity, Context Home settings, connected apps, and HubSpot's network data. It misses anything that lives in a system HubSpot can't reach, and it can't fix records that are wrong to begin with.

What Feeds It

  • CRM records and activity. Contacts, companies, deals, tickets, and every call, email, and meeting the Smart CRM logs.
  • Context Home settings. Your business profile, products, ICPs, personas, sales methodology, and custom files.
  • Connected apps and data sources. Marketplace integrations, plus Data Hub sources like Snowflake sync and the new Google Sheets connection.
  • Network context. Patterns from across HubSpot's customer base that shape recommendations before you've run a campaign.

What It Misses

  • Data outside HubSpot. If billing, service, or operations data sits in other systems, no agent built on the CRM has the full picture.
  • Inconsistent definitions. If two regions use the same field for different things, the AI reads both as the same fact.
  • Knowledge in people's heads. Pricing exceptions, account history, and unwritten handoff rules stay invisible until someone writes them down.

What Our Work With Edgio Shows About CRM Data Quality

Following a series of acquisitions, Edgio needed to bring several systems together, including two Salesforce instances, Marketo, Autopilot, and Salesloft. Regional teams also used different field definitions, requiring manual interpretation across the business.

Our team migrated both Salesforce instances and Marketo into one HubSpot portal. That included three major data sets, one with more than 10 years of history. We also set standards for native and custom properties, trained more than 300 sales team members, and helped cut annual tech stack spend by $430k.

Edgio's project wasn't an AI project, but it's the groundwork Growth Context needs. One CRM with consistent fields gives Breeze Assistant and every agent a single, trustworthy source to work from.

How Do You Improve Your HubSpot Growth Context?

You can improve your Growth Context by cleaning the CRM data agents read and connecting the tools that log activity. Then write down your positioning, customers, and sales process in Context Home. We work through it in this order because each step makes the next one more useful.

  1. Run the data model health check. The data model health check is free on every plan and scans for 16 types of issues across objects, associations, properties, pipelines, and lifecycle stages. Find it under Data Management > Data Model > Health, and fix the properties your agents will read first.
  2. Merge your duplicates. Duplicate records split activity history across two profiles, so agents only see half the story. The Fall 2026 release added duplicate similarity scores and merge preview to Data Hub's duplicate tools to make that cleanup faster.
  3. Connect email, calendar, and calls. The self-updating CRM starts building once email and calendar are connected. Agree on call recording consent rules with whoever owns data protection before you turn on a notetaker.
  4. Fill in the Business section. Add your positioning, products and services, and brand kit in your own words. Ask the people who sell and market the product to write it, and let an admin enter it.
  5. Add your ICPs and personas. Describe the companies and buyers you win most often, not the ones you wish you had. Prospecting Agent scores accounts against these profiles.
  6. Document how your team actually sells. Add your sales methodology in Team & Processes, and upload handoff rules or qualification criteria in the Custom section with the right visibility setting.
  7. Connect the systems that hold the rest of your data. Billing, support, and product usage data often live elsewhere. A marketplace app or a custom HubSpot integration brings that data into the CRM where agents can use it.
  8. Give Context Home an owner. Pick one person to act on Context Home's suggestions each month and re-run the health check every 30 days.

What We'd Avoid

Don't paste in old onboarding documents that describe a process your reps stopped following years ago. Agents follow what you write, so outdated playbooks produce confident, outdated output.

Don't switch every agent on at once either. Start with one agent tied to one clear outcome, like the Breeze agent we'd turn on first, then expand as the answers hold up. The same CRM data problems that break Breeze agents will show up faster when five agents are reading them at once.

How Can Campaign Creators Help You Build Growth Context?

Weak AI output in HubSpot usually traces back to thin context or messy CRM data and not to the agent itself. Our team reviews your Context Home sections, runs the data model health check, and fixes the fields your agents depend on. We also connect the systems that hold the rest of your customer data.

Then we set up and test one agent against real customer questions before it goes live. As a HubSpot Elite Solutions Partner, we follow the same data-first approach we used to bring Edgio onto a single HubSpot portal. If you're planning a rollout, start with our HubSpot AI agent implementation service.

Is Your HubSpot Growth Context Ready for AI Agents?

HubSpot Growth Context is what Breeze Assistant and HubSpot's AI agents work from, and Context Home is where you can build and check it. The score is a helpful prompt, but the real work is clean CRM data, connected systems, and a profile written by people who know the business.
